WM Mack & Emma Blackmon Family Scholarship Fund

A legacy of education, encouragement, and opportunity.

The William Mack and Emma Blackmon Family Executive Committee is proud to establish the Mack & Emma Blackmon Family Scholarship Fund for the direct descendants of Mack and Emma Blackmon. This fund was created to recognize the successful completion of high school and to encourage continued pursuit of post-secondary education.

Our goal is simple: honor our family’s legacy while supporting the next generation as they step into what’s next.

Who is this scholarship for?

This scholarship is available to direct descendants of Mack and Emma Blackmon who have successfully completed high school and/or plan to pursue post-secondary education (college, university, technical school, or other qualifying programs).

Award timeline

  • Initial awards begin at the 2026 Family Reunion
  • Awards will be presented annually thereafter, in both reunion and non-reunion years

About the application

The purpose of this application is to help the Scholarship Committee gather the information needed to verify eligibility and prepare awards.

This scholarship is non-competitive.
That means applicants are not competing against each other for selection. The application process is designed to confirm family lineage and ensure each applicant meets the scholarship requirements.

The application will include information such as:

  • Family lineage (connection to Mack & Emma Blackmon)
  • High school graduation date
  • Transcript request/submission details
  • A brief essay
  • Future education plans
  • Proof of college/post-secondary acceptance (as applicable)
  • Other supporting details needed for documentation


NOTE: Scholarship applicants will receive a letter of confirmation once the application has been received. And, when a decision has been made, an acknowledgment and reward letter will be sent to the applicant via email or USPS.

YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Helping build the fund

To support the scholarship fund, each head of family will be asked to contribute $25 or more toward the initial formation of scholarship funding. Additionally, a portion of your Blackmon family dues is allocated to the scholarship fund.

Every contribution—large or small—helps us celebrate our graduates and strengthen our family legacy.
