The 2026 Reunion is Over. What's Next?
Now that the 2026 reunion has wrapped, we have several exciting updates to share as we continue building, preserving, and celebrating our family legacy.

2028 Reunion: We’re Coming Back to NC/SC!
The 2028 Blackmon Family Reunion will once again be held in North Carolina and South Carolina, and the Executive Committee will plan and oversee the reunion.
Interested in getting more involved? We are welcoming family members who would like to serve on the Executive Committee. Complete the form under Contact Us on the family website.
For those who have expressed interest in joining the Executive Committee, a separate email will be sent to you shortly. Please plan to join us for our September meeting on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 7PM.
Moving Forward with 501(c)(3) Status
As discussed and voted on during the family meeting on August 1, we will move forward with preparing and filing for recognition as a nonprofit organization. This will open the door to other initiatives, projects, funding, and other support for our family.
Blackmon Heritage & Legacy Is Coming
We are developing a new password-protected family area featuring our ancestry tree, family photos and reunion videos, Mack’s will, the original inherited land outline, a William Jasper Blackmon feature, historical documents, and more.
The Blackmon Family Ancestry Tree is scheduled to become available to the family in September 2026 and will be updated at least twice each year. Corrections and documented additions can be submitted through the website.
The Legacy Committee is also developing the Griot Project, which will preserve the stories, memories, and wisdom of our seasoned family members.
The Blackmon Store Is Coming Later This Month!
Represent your Blackmon pride 365! The store will feature original Blackmon designs, with proceeds supporting the family website, scholarship fund, legacy projects, reunion seed money, operating expenses, and other approved family initiatives.

One Last Thing:
We are looking for a JBL wireless speaker that was in the Heritage Room on Saturday. If you saw it, picked it up, or know where it may be, please reply to this post or contact the Executive Committee.

2024 Blackmon Family Reunion Live Q&A

The reunion will be held in Oxon Hill, Maryland from July 18-21, 2024!

Dear Blackmon Family - Due to the recent developments concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we (the 2020 DC Local Committee with the support of the Blackmon Executive Committee) have decided to cancel the family for 2020. More information to come in regards to refunds and rescheduling.

The reunion will be held in Washington, DC from July 2-5, 2020!!
